Error during OnGuard 2010 installation on Windows 7: ''Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component...''

Symptom

During installation of OnGuard  on a computer running Windows , the following error message might appear:

"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly component
{550B5BF0-FF32-EF74-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E}.
HRESULT: 0x80070BC9."

The installation fails at this point.

Note: The ID referenced in the error (such as 550B5BF0-FF32-EF74-A01F-C8B3B9A1E18E shown above) might vary.
Note: If  you burned using Roxio, you may get the message. If that happens, burn with another software or mount the ISO virtually.
Note:  You may need to redownload the media from the PartnerCenter since the current file may be corrupt
 

Resolution


To resolve this error, ensure that the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 is enabled on the computer running Windows 7:

  1. Click Start > Control Panel > Programs, and then click Turn Windows features on or off.
  2. In the Windows Features window, select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
  3. Click [OK].
  4. If prompted, reboot the computer.
  5. Retry the OnGuard installation.

The error message referenced in this article should no longer appear.
